WesBank this year celebrates a world record 26 years of sponsorship of the WesBank V8 Supercar Championship.

WesBank V8 Supercars are based on the American Trans-Am car which is purpose built for road course racing. These cars are capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kph in 3.10 seconds and posting quarter-mile time of 10.8 seconds at 215 kph. Top speed is approaching 300 kph on extended straight-aways and lateral acceleration is 1.8g.

Down the years the WesBank series has supplied a stage on which some household names have performed. The likes of Sarel van der Merwe, Terry Moss, Chris Aberdein, Ben Morgenrood, Graham Duxbury and George Fouche have provided for high speed entertainment.
